Love finds even the biggest losers

"The Biggest Loser" contestant Rebecca Meyer may have lost weight (and the competition), but she gained something as well. Meyer gained love.

Meyer recently told Jay Leno that she is now in a relationship with other former contestant Daniel Wright.

Meyer got kicked off the show just one week after Wright and said, "Daniel was my best friend, is my best friend. Leaving the show we talked -- like five, six hour conversations -- and then, you know, he told me he had feelings."

Meyer also told Leno that it was easy for her to connect with Wright because they have been through the same things. She also said she fell in love with her best friend.


She also she, in a different interview, that she asked Wright, "How do you tell your best friend that you're in love with him?" And that is when, she said, he told her he was in love with her.

"Rad and Bad Reality" had fuzzy feelings when hearing about this story and is incredibly excited and thrilled for the happy couple. It is always wonderful to hear about anyone in love, but to meet on a show when such as "The Biggest Loser" is not something many people can say.

They have most likely both changed drastically inside, as well as outside obviously, and to find love so quickly since the transformation is a wonderful thing. "Rad and Bad Reality" believes it is important to write about such touching stories as this because it shows the good things about reality TV and shows the impact such a show actually has. Sometimes, reality television can be put in a bad light and it is always good to show the positives that can come out of it. News organizations such as E! aren't always very nice when talking about reality TV and are often sarcastic, which is expected and sometimes very hard to avoid. However, when a story is touching like this, it is hard for anyone to make fun of it or talk badly of reality TV. It is very important to show the world that reality TV isn't always bad and/or fake. Sometimes, real things can happen and people can be genuinely happy because of it.

This story, though about reality television, reflects the traditional news value of audience. The audience of this shows is most likely interested in this story because it involves two people that they have watched change in front of their very eyes. However, even some people who do not watch the show, may be touched by this love story. It is not every day that people struggling with issues like weight and emotional problems because of being overweight can lose the weight and find love at the same time. It is a romantic story and one that is sure to touch many audiences.
