Makeovers and Weightloss: "The Biggest Loser" contestants look drastically different

On tonight's episode of "The Biggest Loser," the contestants returned to Washington D.C. and met host Alison Sweeney outside of the ranch they live in.

The contestants were surprised with by Tabatha Coffey from "Tabatha's Salon Takeover" and Tim Gunn from "Project Runway." The makeovers were given to the contestants before they had to give inspirational speeches about their experiences on the show and what it has been like to lose weight.

All contestants were surprised by their family members before giving the speeches to an audience of more than 300 that included many overweight individuals. The speeches were very inspiring and motivational. Every speech seemed to touch people in the audience in different ways and many tears were shed.
For this week's challenge, each contestant had to pull themselves from one side of a canyon to another while hanging 200 feet above the ground. The first person to reach the other side of the canyon, which turned out to be Rudy, got a two-week trip to The Biggest Loser Resort.

Rudy revealed that his sister died of Leukemia and Jillian, a trainer on the show, got him to talk about it and found out that it may be the reason for his weight issues.

The two people below the yellow line this week were, Rebecca and Liz. Rebecca was eliminated by votes, as usual.

"Rad and Bad Reality" believes shows like "The Biggest Loser" are important to keep the standard of reality TV high. There is now "loser" on "The Biggest Loser" and all contestants work very hard to make it as far as they do. There is also nothing over-dramatic about "The Biggest Loser" and it really is about real people in real life situations.

A blog post discussing a recap of a show reflects the traditional news value of audience because "The Biggest Loser" has its own audience and the show is most likely very important to them. Because the show has its own following, there are most likely people who wanted to see the episode "Rad and Bad Reality" just recapped, but were unable to due to a number of different reasons. It is important to sum up the key things about an episode so someone who just wants to know what happened but doesn't have time to watch it can read it quickly. Audience is the main reason for any recap of a show and a blog post like this is a perfect example.

"Rad and Bad Reality" also believes it is nice to see "The Biggest Loser" have 9.6 million viewers because of all the reality shows that probably aren't worth the time and attention they are given. "The Biggest Loser" is in fact so popular that there is now word of "The Biggest Loser--Asia."

"Rad and Bad Reality" hopes reality television shows such as this will stick around for a while...or at least as long as the other shows that aren't as inspiring in hopes it will balance the reality TV world out a bit.
