"Dive Deeper:" ANTM hopefuls take leap into ocean

For the first time in "America's Next Top Model" history, the girls on this season are 5'7 and under, heights below the normal height standard for models.

On the latest episode of "ANTM", which aired Nov. 4, Marisa Miller was the guest judge and showed the contestants how to pose for photos while taking a shower to wash off sand they were told to roll in.

The girls then jumped off cliffs and into the ocean while having to strike a pose. Nicole won the competition by having the best photo and received a $5,000 chocolate pearl necklace. The winner also got to chose a friend who got more frames at the next photo shoot. That friend got to chose a friend and so on until one girl, Erin, was left without extra frames.

The girls then threw a birthday party for Laura, but Nicole quit the party and went to bed early so she wouldn't be tired for the next day's photo shoot.

At the next photo shoot, the girls took a boat out to sea to be photographed underwater by photographer Russell James. Sundai pulled out "every excuse in the book," according to the photography coach, Jay Manuel. She complained that she shouldn't go underwater because she has asthma and stayed pretty near the surface so she could go up for air every few seconds.

But the photographer was also disappointed with Erin for staying on the surface and not going under the water more. He felt that she blew an opportunity because he could have done surface shots in a swimming pool.

Next came the judging. The judges didn't seem incredibly impressed with any photos, but they liked a few of them. Jennifer admitted to holding her breath not just underwater, but also while the judges are giving their feedback.

In the end, Jennifer's picture was chosen as the best, and she was reminded to breath. The bottom two were Sundai and Erin and Sundai got sent home. The judges seemed pretty tired of her excuses, but were kind when it was time for her to leave.

Unfortunately, because this blog post is going live immediately following the show, pictures and videos are not yet available. The show has yet to air on the West Coast, so video will not be on the Internet for a while. Once it is though, the complete episode will be available at the "ANTM" homepage.

One of the most important features to a blog about reality TV is a recap of an incredibly recent episode. The sooner a recap can go live, the better it is. Many people do not have time to watch their favorite shows regularly or maybe just missed a certain episode and only have time to find out who was kicked off, instead of sitting through the whole thing. That is where a blog post like this comes into play and that is why the traditional news value of timeliness is reflected in this post. Audience is also reflected because there is an audience for the show and if a model an individual wanted to win is kicked off, they would not only want to know it if they missed the episode, but may also stop watching it if there is no one to root for. The audience is greatly reflected in reality TV because the impact of them can bounce back to the ratings. It is important to discuss topics related to reality TV as well, but without actually watching the shows and understanding what took place, "Rad and Bad Reality" believes one cannot call themselves a true reality TV fan.
